YPSILANTI – Eastern Michigan University’s Eastern Constructors student group will host a free in-person Construction Management Career Fair on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 4 - 6:30 p.m. The fair will happen at the Eastern Michigan University Student Center in Ballroom A, 900 Oakwood in Ypsilanti.

The Construction Management Career Fair is an annual event driven, organized and supported by the efforts of the Eastern Constructors student group. Students will have an opportunity to complete applications for construction jobs and internships. In addition, more than 40 employers will attend the fair, including Barton Malow, Gilbane Building Company, Sachse Construction and CEI Builders, among others.

“It’s important that we expose our students to companies that can help to jumpstart their careers,” said Adam Bogedain, instructor for EMU’s Construction Management

School of Visual and Built Environments and career fair coordinator. “This career fair will help students land internships or full-time positions during college and beyond.”

Participants will have access to the following benefits during the fair:

  • Summer and year-round internships and co-op positions

  • Potential full-time positions during college and post-graduation

  • Information about EMU and the construction management program

  • Opportunities to develop relationships with potential employers

  • Activities and involvement opportunities with the Eastern Constructors student group

No registration is required for students. However, employers must register by Oct. 21. Space is limited to the first 50 companies and requires a $250 registration fee. Registration can be accessed by visiting the employer's Handshake dashboard. All proceeds will benefit the Eastern Constructors student group.

Attendees are encouraged to dress professionally and bring their resumes, business cards, a pen and paper. Visit the Handshake webpage to learn more and preview the list of employers that will be in attendance.
