YPSILANTI — Eastern Michigan University’s GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology will host a TechTalk featuring Raffaele Mautone, founder and CEO of AaDya Security, at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, located at 124 Sill Hall or via Zoom.

EMU TechTalk is a series that offers students and faculty opportunities to network with renowned experts and up-and-coming leaders in the engineering and technology fields. Each TechTalk provides extensive networking opportunities and a chance to explore careers, internships, and research opportunities at the College. 

“By partnering with leaders such as Raffaele Mautone, our students can learn valuable and relevant information in their perspective fields,” said Mohamad Qatu, dean of GameAbove College of Engineering and Technology. “We are happy to welcome back a fellow EMU alumnus to campus as he brings his experience and knowledge.“

Since launching EMU TechTalk, students and faculty have heard from industry leaders, including Michael Gzybowski, senior counsel at Dykema, Chuck Gray, vice president, Vehicle Hardware Engineering, Ford Model e, Quentin Messer, CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, and Carla Bailo, president of the Center for Automotive Research in Ann Arbor.

Mautone’s talk titled “Journey to starting a cybersecurity company” will focus on his career path and technology. Mautone’s extensive experience in the IT and security industries inspired him to launch AaDya Security to provide smart, simple, effective, and affordable cybersecurity solutions for small and medium business customers.

As founder and CEO of Detroit-based AaDya Security, Mautone’s experience in implementing marketing and sales strategies and positioning companies for future growth have been instrumental and paramount to serving companies such as Duo, FireEye, McAfee, and Dell.

Raffaele Mautone is the founder and CEO of Detroit-based AaDya Security. His strategic thinking and effective leadership have been instrumental and paramount in his career as an IT, sales and operations professional. He holds a BS from Eastern Michigan University and as an active alumnus, has participated in student mentorship and provided support for the university by donating his time, talents and resources.
