YPSILANTI – Membership in Business Professionals of America (BPA), a national career/technical student organization, leads to great success for many of its members. Among the many programs offered is its Workplace Skills Assessment Program, providing an opportunity for students to compete in more than 80 skill competitions across all aspects of business, technology, finance, health, and other related careers.

Brothers Anders and Davin Lindwall started their path to success in the BPA chapter at West Iron County High School in Iron River, MI. Both Anders and Davin earned multiple top honors in BPA’s state and national Digital Media Production and Video Production Team competitions.

After high school, the brothers continued this success in film school, launching their own video production company, Childe. Now, they are making waves in the film industry with the release of their debut feature film, “Green and Gold.”

Green and Gold is an inspirational movie celebrating family, community values, and football through the triumphant journey of a small-town farmer. Writer and director Anders Lindwall explained, “Our goal was to tell a story that was authentic. In today’s world, many people are focused on conflict, life being hard, and all the nasty aspects. Green and Gold shows the essence of the beautiful parts of life that have kind of been pushed to the back burner.”

Former West Iron County High School business and technology teacher Lee Rometti shared, “Anders and Davin were talented and passionate students. They could have pursued many different career fields and found success in them all. But they have always been very creative and had stories to tell.”

Similar to other movie productions, Green and Gold was a passion project taking many years to complete. Lindwall reflects, “The hardest and most rewarding part of the process and this film was getting support. In the end, we built a lot of relationships with the farmers and Green Bay Packers. Getting their support, seeing their excitement, and telling a story about them was all worth it.”

Family and community are core, essential values of the Lindwalls. They give back to their alma mater and have had students visit them on the production set in Green Bay as well as providing intern opportunities for students from Michigan at one of their home-base locations in Colorado. Rometti states, “After the Lindwalls moved on to college and then to their own businesses, they continued to invest in my program and students. They often came back to encourage, teach, and inspire my high school students. They were always available to give advice to and critique my BPA students’ videos for competitions.”

Lindwall reminisces, “Mr. Rometti changed the course of our lives. He said BPA would allow me to take my passion for video and think about it from a career standpoint. The experience in BPA gave me a practical implementation into what it would be like in the business world.”

Green and Gold, starring Craig T. Nelson and presented by Fathom Events, premieres nationwide on January 31, 2025. The film was named an Official Selection and Audience Award Winner at the 2024 Austin Film Festival and received the Official Selection, Audience Choice, and Jimmy Stewart Legacy Awards at the Heartland Film Festival for its compelling storytelling and emotional depth.
