YPSILANTI – The Eastern Michigan University Board of Regents today (Oct. 20, 2022) approved a $49,217,000 financial aid budget for the next academic year, 2023-24. The new budget represents a 29% increase in the University’s financial aid support for students over the levels of 10 years ago, reflecting the University’s ongoing commitment to providing financial support to help students succeed.

Under the University’s supportive financial aid funding model, the majority of EMU students receive financial aid. This includes approximately 90% of first-year students.

“The economic challenges facing students and families, as we recover from the pandemic, are significant,” said Eastern Michigan University President James Smith. “We are committed to doing what we can to help our students assemble a sustainable budget that allows them to reach their full academic potential.”
