YPSILANTI – Eastern Michigan University's bachelor's degree program in paralegal studies has been ranked No. 15 nationally and the No. 1 public university program in Michigan.

BestAccreditedColleges.org, is a website that helps students find high-quality education that meets their needs. The website’s ranking methodology considered hundreds of institutions across the country and ranked Eastern using data around financial aid awards, the quality of education, faculty, campus resources, and more.

“I am excited that our Paralegal Program has earned this important recognition,” said Professor Elizabeth Donovan, coordinator of the Paralegal Program. “Our paralegal program, composed of a learning community of students and educators located within a large state university, provides students the opportunity to hone their paralegal skills while also obtaining the benefits of a diverse general education.”

Eastern’s paralegal program serves students who obtain jobs in law firms, government agencies, and not-for-profit organizations and students who attend law school or other graduate programs. The knowledge and skills gained through an EMU paralegal major are sought by employers and recognized by educational institutions.

Eastern’s paralegal program is an approved American Bar Association (ABA) program.

As an ABA-approved program, EMU ensures interaction between students and faculty, offers meaningful and prompt feedback, and provides practical assignments designed to develop real-world skills. The curriculum also responds to the changing requirements of the legal community.
