Eastern Michigan University online masters programs ranked best in the nation in multiple categories by Online Masters Colleges

YPSILANTI — Eastern Michigan University’s online master's programs have been recognized in multiple categories by Online Masters Colleges. The 2024 list includes the Best Online Master’s Programs in MichiganBest Master’s in Sociology Online Programs, and Best Master’s in Clinical Research Online Programs. EMU’s sociology and clinical research programs were among the top 20 and recognized as among the top 10 online Michigan degree programs. 

"EMU is honored to be recognized for our commitment to offering affordable, high-quality online master’s programs," said Jennifer Kellman-Fritz, dean of the College of Health and Human Services. “At Eastern, we empower students to pursue the education they need in a way that works best for them, fostering a supportive community to help them thrive.”

According to Online Masters Colleges, the ranking methodology incorporated recent data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and the National Center for Education Statistics. The evaluation process assesses universities on affordable tuition, expert instructors, retention, and graduation rates. 

EMU offers nearly 40 online master's programs covering diverse fields, from tax consulting to human nutrition and psychology. Notably, students in fully online programs pay in-state tuition and fees regardless of where they live. EMU’s programs are designed to meet the needs of students where they are, providing combined and accelerated programs that fit into a busy schedule. 

EMU’s recognition builds on Newsweek’s recent recognition of EMU as one of the 250 best universities in the nation to pursue an online degree in 2025, highlighting EMU’s flexibility and affordability for students.
