Eastern Michigan University President James Smith and EMU students available today at NAIAS to discuss higher education role in preparing students for technology and engineering careers

Who: Eastern Michigan University President James Smith and EMU students are available to discuss the university's technology/engineering related initiatives and higher education's role in preparing students for careers at the University’s exhibit at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at Cobo Hall in Detroit.

What: EMU technology and engineering on display include an alternative fuel car, drone technology, an aviation flight simulator, a virtual reality experience and a self-cleaning fabric.

When: President Smith is available to speak 10 a.m. to 3:30 Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Where: The College of Technology exhibit will be located in the AutoMobili-D section and is open on the following days and times:

  • Jan. 15-16, 12-6 p.m. (Press Days)
  • Jan. 17-18, 12-6 p.m. (Industry Preview)
  • Jan. 20-21, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (Weekend Public Days)
